Hebron Glass

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious The Ever Merciful
With the attendance of the school principal Mrs Nawal Al Mujaber and her diputy assistant, Mrs. Samah Nijim, Miss Jehan Ashour, teacher of English has presented a training lesson for the English staff.

were all very happy for this invitation.
The lesson was entitled Hebron Glass for 7th Class students.
The class was divided into groups, each group was headed by a leader.
The lesson started with greetings
followed by a game.
Then there some pre-reading questions about glass industry.
revision for vocabulary was also applied before starting the lesson.

A map of Palestine was displayed on the screen.
A meeting with an expert was the following activity which included information about Hebron city.
The expert who was played by Nasaiem and the interviewer who was played by Ansam
Then Ansam let the audiance asked other questions about Hebron
- Where is Hebron?
- What about population of Hebron?
Why was it called Hebron?
- Are the people interested in farming?
If so what is the most important crop?
- Is there any famous industry in Hebron?
- What were the most famous sites in Hebron?
- Are there refugees in Hebron?
- How many villages and refugee camps are there?
The expert answered all the questions.
The teacher thanked both expert and interviewer and the class did the same.
The teacher introduced new vocabulary.
Groups used their worksheets to do all tasks.

The class also watched a video about glass industry in Hebron
Which was about glass blowing, using broken glass, making glass into different shapes and colours, using pipes to blow it, dangers of this industry, drawing on vases and plates... etc.
The text of the book was recorded as sound background of the video.
Teacher then discussed the video with the class.

Then students opened their books and work on their worksheets finding the answeres requested in the worksheet tasks about meanings, opposites, ticking true or false, giving names or numbers and others.


Then students read their text book enjoying their journey to a factory for making glass in Hebron.


Students' reaction and interaction were very great.
They participated and enjoyed their times most of the lesson.
The audiance' reaction was so nice, they expressed their happiness to attend this lesson.
